U.K. alternative rock band Feeder was formed in 1995 by sound engineer/guitarist/vocalist Grant Nicholas and drummer Jon Lee, who had previously played together in several bands. The debut Two Colours EP was released in November 1995, as Feeder was building up a substantial live reputation. An acclaimed six-track mini-album, Swim, followed in June 1996.

Single "High" entered the U.K. charts at number 24 in October 1997 and appeared on their debut album, Polythene, which earned much praise from the music press. A mammoth North American tour followed in 1998. The highly successful Yesterday Went Too Soon album appeared in 1999; the band played before enormous audiences that year at the Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds and Ashton Court festivals in the U.K. and the Mt. Fuji Festival in Japan.

In 2000, Feeder headlined the prestigious NME Carling Premier Awards show in London; the band also toured Australia for the first time. 2001 single "Buck Rogers" stormed to number five on the U.K. charts, soon followed by the release of Echo Park.

The commercial success of Echo Park consolidated the band's reputation as one of the U.K.'s leading rock acts, but tragedy struck in January 2002 when Lee was found dead at his home in Miami. Nicholas and Hirose carried on, teaming up with Echo Park producer Gil Norton and recruiting drummer Mark Richardson for their fourth studio album, Comfort In Sound. It was the band's most emotional album yet, as it dealt with the loss of Lee.

Despite their loss, the band decided to carry on as a two-piece, playing four live shows in 2002, included headlining slots on the Evening Session Stage at the Carling Weekend. The single "Come Back Around" was released that September. August 2004 saw the release of Picture Of Perfect Youth.
